From that conversation we went on to other things about what we like to eat, the meals he likes, & his incapacity to make a grilled cheese. And then Todd said, "I'm so impressed with how you're a fancy cook."
*blank stares* *nervous laughter* *more blank stares*
See, I have a confession to make. When Todd & I were first married I cooked EVERYTHING from scratch. From pancakes, to mashed potatoes, to brownies, to banana nut muffins, to fettucini alfredo...and I'm pretty sure he still thinks I cook that way.
But these days...I'm spending all my time wiping a little nose & changing diapers, while cleaning up toys & well let's all be honest, blogging, so...all my cooking is done from a box...but please don't tell Todd. I quite like that Fancy Cook Status.
Do you think Top Chef would take me on their show? I promise I'll share my boxes.

Years ago, when our kiddos were younger, I cooked everything from scratch! After 5 or so years of that, I tried my first box of Hamburger Helper...it was a big hit! The kids were excited to be eating things their friends were eating! After that, I didn't cook from scratch as much, until my kids grew up and started watching me cook...needless to say, I'm back to cooking everything from scratch again!
Man, I'm missing Bisquick already! I made mashed potatoes the other night from scratch (no Betty Crocker mix here)...and it'll be better once my Kitchenaid mixer gets here! But the kids liked them. Josh was happy. That's all that matters, right?
hi, I love your wedding pic... and I am a sporadic.. cleaner.. too... I just found you today.. I love the look of your blog.. mine needs a makeover.
HAHAHAHAHA I'm still impressed!
Jorge knows I make a damn good quesadilla, a decent vegetable pasta and some killer sandwiches... but that's as far as it goes haha
Hahaha!! This cracked me up. :) At least he thinks your fancy. And the lumpy mashed potatos? Totally gross.
LOL!! That is awesome! You would be great on Top Chef!
Stopping early from the SITS Cocktail Party! I am now following you on Twitter and Facebook.
My husband is so happy to see me cooking he doesn't care if it comes from a box.
I would love a Kichenaid mixer! gah!
Thanks for the compliments & thank you so much for stopping by!
What's the link to your blog? I'd love to check it out.
I cook 7 nights a week & it just gets old fast. But when you're on a budget, it's just better to cook than to go out every night.
Last night I did half scratch & half box. lol And guess what...we survived & Todd loved it! lol
They are sooooo gross! lol
hahaha! That's the best story about the mac & cheese!
I never even thought of that! hahahaha But then again Todd is a garbage disposal when it comes to food (sorry Todd)! lol So, if it's edible he'll eat it!
lol it does Liz thank you ;)
I am not a very good cook but thankfully my husband is. I will gladly do the dishes everynight while he cooks. The only thing I am good at making is dessert and pouring wine.
How does your husband feel about reheated things? Freezer meals are AWESOME... Freeze 2 or 3 meals ever time you cook, and after a while you can have something different every night but only cook a couple times a week. I also recommended Crockpot cooking for those who don't like to cook... http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/2008/02/crockpot-buffalo-wing-dip.html
