A year ago today, I decided to become a blogger.
Some people are motivated to begin blogging to because they want to make friends online, some need a creative outlet, others are motivated to help keep in touch with family.
Me? I was motivated by the cute blog designs I found at April Showers Blog Design. Yes, I was motivated by shiny & sparkly things. I decided that if I was going to invest money in a blog design I had to prove to myself that it was worth the money & that I was in it for the long haul.
So, I wrote my first post titled "Okay Seriously Now!"
I jumped in not only head first, but a big ole' cannon ball into the pool of blogging and boy did I not know what I was getting myself into.
I had no idea how addicting it all would be! I didn't know that every.single.thing I did would become a post opportunity or that I would have notebook after notebook after notebook filled with blogging ideas.
In the beginning, I had a terrible basic blogger design, I naively titled blog posts "Warning: This is Long!!!" that just begged people to not read it, even though it was a good post. I wrote dumb posts about my new menu pages.
But, then I started to find my writer's voice.
And I wrote posts that were special to me like the one about my great-grandmother & my grandmother when she was a baby, temporarily giving up grad school & the one about my Neighbor Tommy.
I wrote funny posts about Jackholes hating my baby & Lboy helping me flash people while shopping.
I started a blog design business which has TAKEN off & has me working 25 hours a week on design! And in a few short months, I will get to announce how my business will be expanding in new & exciting ways!
I joined twitter, started a facebook fan page, & a blog frog community.
My favorite part though?
All the emails, the tweets, the facebook messages, & the blog frog discussions from all the new, amazing people I've met.
And this is where I want to thank everyone who reads here! YOU'VE made this year awesome & YOU have me looking forward to the next one!
It's been decided, I'm here to stay--if you'll have me of course!

It took me a while to find my blogging voice and to figure some things out, but it's just so addicting that it's all you really want to do. At least that's how it was for me, I don't think I'm going anywhere! I've had a lot of fun!

Isn't it crazy how different the first posts are from the newer ones? I go back to read some of my old ones and I just cringe. Live, learn and grow, right?
Congrats!!! I've been blogging for just over year. My favorite part is meeting people with lives so different from mine. I also like keeping in touch with life in the US because over the years I've forgotten what the culture is like there haha
